Five Star Electric's name reflects its promise – to continually achieve the highest "five-star" ranking on every project.Across New York State our notable projects include, the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, the Hudson Yards Platform, Madison Square Garden Transformation, Citi Field, 86th Street Station and multiple United Nations projects.Job DescriptionAs an Assistant Project Manager (APM) at Five Star Electric, reporting to the Project Executive, you will have the opportunity to:Project Coordination & AdministrationAssist Project Manager with daily management of electrical construction projects.Support project planning, scheduling, and execution activities.Maintain project documentation including contracts, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.Track project milestones and assist in monitoring schedule performance.Coordinate communication between field staff, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.Cost Control & Financial ManagementAssist with project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.Help prepare monthly cost reports and project status updates.Review vendor and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and approval.Support change order pricing, tracking, and documentation.Monitor material and labor costs against project budgets.Procurement & Subcontractor CoordinationAssist with material procurement and equipment tracking.Coordinate delivery schedules to align with project timelines.Solicit vendor pricing and prepare purchase orders.Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.Technical & Document ControlReview electrical drawings and specifications for completeness.Process and track RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.Ensure compliance with contract documents and project requirements.Maintain organized electronic and physical project files.Field & Safety SupportCoordinate with field supervisors and foremen regarding project progress.Participate in project meetings and site walks as required.Support adherence to company safety policies and OSHA requirements.Assist with resolving field issues impacting schedule or productivity.Client & Stakeholder CommunicationParticipate in owner and subcontractor coordination meetings.Provide timely updates to project stakeholders.Help maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.5+ years of experience in construction project coordination or electrical contracting preferred.Internship or field experience with an electrical contractor strongly required/preferred.Basic understanding of electrical construction methods and systems.Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.Familiarity with construction project lifecycle and documentation.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).Experience with project management software (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar) preferred.Bluebeam or document control software experience a plus.Excellent written and verbal skillsOur MissionWe build critical infrastructure that creates a better world.Our VisionWe strive to be the preeminent full-service civil, building, and specialty contractor by delivering innovative, transformative projects through world-class execution.
