Sr. Buyer / Strategic Sourcing

Overview Level Senior Position Type Full Time Job Shift Day 4 Year Degree Travel Percentage None Category Supply Chain Description The Sr. Buyer exercises full buying responsibility and supports all Strategic Sourcing and NPI activities. This position acts as a department-wide resource and will represent the department in inter-departmental activities. Maintain a work bench that may include strategic, outside processing and technical suppliers Maintain appropriate department documentation and correspondence including purchase orders, acknowledgements, request(s) for quotes, project status’ and metrics as assigned Coordinate the development of commodity / supplier strategies including supplier negotiations and drafting purchasing agreement and blanket PO’s Project management as required including leadership and assistance for other buyers Projects include Key Performance Indicators such as Supplier sourcing, Supplier improvement, cost savings, and inventory reduction Be a lead resource for the rest of the department Assist the CoPQ and DMR process for assigned commodities Advisement or direct participation in the resolution of supplier disputes for the department when necessary Participation in ERP problem solving and module implementations Other duties as assigned Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Purchasing or Supply Chain and/or business experience in a manufacturing environment with 7+ years related experience Previous exposure to ERP systems is a plus Specialized commodity sourcing experience is a plus Ability to assess requirements and understand relationships of components based on manufacturing processes or product line families including similar analysis of vendor processes An understanding and desire to satisfy customers and improve processes Experience with computer business applications is mandatory #J-18808-Ljbffr Carver Inc
