Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer with 2+ years of experience in steel and metals procurement to support sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAP ERP systems , a strong understanding of metal commodities, and the ability to manage vendor relationships while ensuring cost efficiency and timely delivery.

• Source and procure steel and metal materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum) in alignment with company requirements
• Manage purchase orders, pricing, and delivery schedules within SAP ERP system
• Develop and maintain relationships with mills, distributors, and suppliers
• Evaluate supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery metrics
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and lead times to optimize cost savings
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning and production teams
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry standards
• Analyze market trends for steel and metals to support strategic buying decisions
• Resolve discrepancies related to shipments, invoices, and quality issues

• 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (preferably in steel or metals industry)
• Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Strong understanding of metal grades, specifications, and supply channels
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)

• Experience sourcing from mills and service centers
• Knowledge of commodity pricing trends and indices (e.g., steel market fluctuations)
• Familiarity with manufacturing or industrial environments

This is a Permanent position based out of New Berlin, WI.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $60000.00/yr.

This is a fully onsite position in New Berlin,WI.
