Per Diem Lifeguard

Saint Joseph's College of Maine is hiring for the position of per diem Lifeguard! Availability during early mornings, evenings, and weekends is highly desirable.

Position Description:

Supports the Alfond Center's department of Aquatics by:

• Ensuring the safety of all facility users
• Implementing all emergency and rescue procedures
• Enforcing all pool rules
• Opening, closing, and maintaining the pool
• Notifying the Aquatics Director of maintenance needs

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must have current American Red Cross or YMCA certification in:
• Lifeguard with CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
• First Aid

Availability of 5 hours per week for scheduling purposes

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Ability to pass a Lifeguard skills assessment as administered by the Aquatics Administrator

Ability to relate well with all age groups, work in a corporate team focused manner and present a professional image

Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to concentrate and follow through on all assignments to completion

Tolerates work related stress effectively and maintains self-control/professionalism
