We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.The Diesel Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner at a Xylem Service Center, customer job sites, or via phone support.Core ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and servicing on Godwin fleet equipment between each rentalTroubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, and pump-related issuesRebuild diesel engines and pump componentsAssist customers and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems at job sites, including startup and troubleshootingConduct initial inspections of equipment for damage; diagnose and report findings to the Service ManagerTest repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and quality standardsPerform preventative maintenance on company vehicles and shop support equipmentPerform diagnostic checks using computer-based tools and technologyParticipate in a weekly on-call rotation to support customers after hoursPerform other related duties as assignedParticipate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activitiesEducation, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:3–5 years of diesel technician/mechanic experience and/or relevant training (or equivalent combination of education and experience)Strong mechanical aptitude with diesel engine experienceValid driver's license with a good driving recordAbility to obtain a DOT Medical CardCDL Class B – PreferredAbility to obtain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.), if applicableTechnical Skills:Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues (advanced diagnostics preferred)Knowledge of equipment repair methods, tools, and techniquesBasic understanding of pump station electrical controls and monitoring systemsExperience with DC electrical systems and circuit testingFamiliarity with diesel engine components and systemsUnderstanding of safety practices and proceduresAdditional Competencies:Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionSelf-motivated and detail-orientedStrong communication skills with customers, coworkers, and leadershipCompensationThe estimated pay rate for this position is $30+ per hour, depending on skills and experience. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and qualifications.
