Job Summary The Person in Charge (PIC) maintains an efficient checkout process and employs thorough and accurate cash control methods to preserve store financial integrity. The role resolves customer concerns and inquiries in a positive, customer‑friendly manner while following company policies. Essential Functions Comply with California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives regulations, including sales hours, ID checks, and preventing sales to minors or intoxicated persons. Supervise self‑checkout (SCO) stations, ensuring accurate scanning, payment processing, and troubleshooting. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of promotions and store policies to provide accurate information to customers. Provide override and register error assistance to Combo Clerks. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge: Store policies, procedures, safety regulations, cash and payment transactions, and customer service best practices. Skills: Strong communication abilities, POS system operation, attention to detail, and basic computer skills. Abilities: Adapt to changing situations, manage multiple demands, make quick decisions, and motivate a team. Physical and Work Conditions Stand and walk for extended periods; lift up to 25 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally. Perform repetitive motions such as reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, and handling money and operating POS and 10‑key adding machines. Work in a fast‑paced indoor, climate‑controlled environment; may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and cleaning chemicals. Shifts are typically 8 hours full‑time; availability required on weekends, evenings, and holidays. Dress code: professional, company‑issued shirts/hats/jackets or personal shirts (black, burgundy, blue) in good repair. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Experience as a Relief Manager preferred; supervisory experience a plus; retail experience an advantage. Must be 18 years of age or older. Compensation Pay range: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour.
