HR Specialist

We are seeking detail-oriented Contract HR Specialists to support our People Operations Employee Lifecycle team with virtual I‑9 documentation review and Section 2 completion in Workday. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with federal employment eligibility verification requirements while delivering an efficient and professional employee experience.

The ideal candidate has prior experience completing Form I‑9s, conducting virtual document inspections, and working within HRIS platforms—preferably Workday.

salary: $19 - $20 per hour

work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual I‑9 document inspections in accordance with DHS guidelines and company procedures
• Accurately complete **Section 2 of the Form I‑9** within Workday
• Review employment authorization documents for authenticity and completeness
• Ensure compliance with federal I‑9 regulations and internal audit standards
• Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and new hires to resolve documentation issues promptly
• Track and manage cases to ensure completion within required timelines
• Escalate complex or compliance-related questions appropriately
• Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive employee information 

Qualifications

Required:

• Prior experience completing Form I‑9 Section 2 verification
• Excellent understanding of employment eligibility documentation requirements
• Experience working in Workday or similar HRIS platforms
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage high-volume transactions in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information

Preferred:

• Experience supporting HR Operations or Employee Lifecycle teams
• Familiarity with E‑Verify processes
• Experience conducting virtual document verification
• Audit or compliance experience within HR
