VP Head of Executive Compensation

Overview The VP Head of Executive Compensation is a critical role on the Takeda Total Rewards team, responsible for designing, implementing, and communicating Takeda’s executive compensation and equity programs on a global scale. Responsibilities Lead the overall design, implementation, and communication of executive compensation and equity programs. Develop and maintain interactions with the Board, Shareholders, Executives, Trustees and oversight bodies for all executive compensation and equity matters. Create materials for Compensation Committee review and discussion, and manage strategic aspects of compensation design and management. Oversee Japanese equity program administration, including the administration and management of Japanese-based annual equity programs for internal and external directors and employees. Provide thought leadership and execution of executive compensation, leveling senior executive roles. Own the senior executive population, including contracts, benefits, and other perquisites. Ensure regulatory disclosures and global compensation regulation compliance. Develop the overall strategy and design of executive compensation programs and practices. Qualifications Minimum 15 years of experience: 10+ years in global compensation and an additional 5+ years in executive compensation. Strong understanding of the finance and accounting impact of compensation plan design. Excellent analytical and modeling skills. Demonstrated low‑ego, hands‑on and strategic style, working across time zones and cultures. Compensation & Benefits Location: Boston, MA, U.S. Base salary range: $259,000 – $407,000. U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term and long‑term incentives. Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance; 401(k) plan with company match; short‑term and long‑term disability coverage; basic life insurance; tuition reimbursement; paid volunteer time; company holidays; well‑being benefits. Paid sick time: up to 80 hours per calendar year; vacation: up to 120 hours for new hires.
