ACCOUNTING MANAGER

National Service Information, Inc. (NSI)
Marion, Ohio | On-Site Position | Full-Time

Position Overview

National Service Information, Inc. (NSI) is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to provide financial leadership and oversee the company’s accounting operations. This key leadership role is responsible for managing accounting functions, payroll administration, financial reporting, profitability analysis, internal controls, and financial documentation.

The ideal candidate will be an analytical and organized professional with demonstrated leadership experience, strong technical accounting skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting management in making informed financial and operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Accounting

• Prepare and maintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile cash, bank, and other asset accounts on a monthly basis.
• Maintain supporting documentation for balance sheet accounts, revenues, and expenses to facilitate accurate income tax preparation.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely maintenance of accounting records and financial documentation.
• Establish, implement, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Maintain organized financial records in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.

Payroll and Accounts Management

• Process semimonthly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation of payroll taxes.
• Oversee accounts payable to ensure accurate and timely vendor payments.
• Record and document customer receipts and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collection.

Financial Analysis and Management Support

• Review and analyze monthly financial statements and reports to provide management with meaningful financial insights.
• Evaluate profitability by product and identify opportunities for pricing adjustments and improved financial performance.
• Develop pricing for customers’ special projects using appropriate cost and profitability analysis.
• Provide financial information and recommendations to support management’s planning and decision-making.

Leadership and Communication

• Provide effective leadership and oversight of accounting-related activities.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with management, employees, vendors, and clients.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and operational challenges with a solutions-oriented approach.
• Manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced business environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred, with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent demonstrated experience and qualifications.
• Documented experience in team leadership and the ability to guide and support others effectively.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and QuickBooks Payroll Online.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow complex issues through to resolution.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and consistently meet deadlines.
• High standards of professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality, and accountability.

Compensation and Benefits

NSI offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

• Starting salary: $55,000–$85,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
