Veterinary Assistant - Overnight

Full-Time (rotating weekends required)

Swedesboro, NJ

Saint Francis Veterinary Center of South Jersey, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is seeking a motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our growing overnight team.

About You

As a  Veterinary Assistant ,  you'll play  an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of  facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to surgery  assistance , to support services including admitting and discharging patients.  

Experience & Skills Requirements:

• 1-2 years of veterinary clinical experience required
• Experience in an emergency or surgical setting preferred
• Must have overnight availability
• Experience with anesthesia preferred 
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Role Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
• Assist with preparation for surgeries and procedures, including anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
• Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts
• Be willing to guide, mentor and support fellow team members.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at?$17-$19/?hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location .? Overnight shift differential offered!
