Job Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Adult)

Schedule

Contract length: 13 weeks; Shift: Nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; Weekend requirement: Every other weekend; Holiday requirement: Available every other holiday, if needed.

Assignment Details

Patient ratio: 1:5.

Requirements

• Active New York RN license (single-state, NY is NOT compact).
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (valid NIHSS required with submittal).
• 1-2 years of experience, with previous ED/acute emergency experience strongly preferred.
• EPIC experience required.
• Core clinical skills including IV therapy, airway/ventilator care, stroke/neuro-trauma management, cardiac monitoring, and emergency trauma care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including assessment, triage, and treatment of patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting changes as necessary in the EMR system.
• Educate patients and families on health management and post-discharge care.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and manage patients with behavioral issues as required.

Compliance / Notes

Candidate proximity: RNs within 75 miles of facility are not accepted; RTO submission limit: Cannot submit candidates with more than 10 days RTO.
