Occupational Therapist (OT) – School-Based

Location: Lancaster, California
Position Type: Full-Time | School-Based | Contract

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in a school-based setting in Lancaster, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for an OT passionate about helping students develop the functional, motor, sensory, and daily living skills they need to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

• Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students’ functional and developmental needs.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable goals.

• Support fine motor development, sensory processing, handwriting, self-care, and classroom participation.

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, school psychologists, and other related-service providers.

• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with school and state requirements.

• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate student progress with educational teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

• Active California Occupational Therapist license issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT) — required.

• Current NBCOT certification preferred or as required by the employer.

• Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.

• Knowledge of IEPs, special education procedures, and school-based service delivery preferred.

• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

California Licensing & State Requirements

• Must hold an active California OT license before providing occupational therapy services in California.

• Must meet applicable California Board of Occupational Therapy requirements.

• Must satisfy applicable school district and employer background clearance requirements, including fingerprinting and criminal background checks.

• Must complete any required district onboarding, health clearances, and documentation before starting.

• Must comply with applicable California special education regulations, IDEA requirements, and district policies.
