Senior Project Coordinator - SU-COD

The Child Health and Development Institute (CHDI) is an independent, non-profit organization located in Farmington, CT. CHDI is dedicated to improving the behavioral health and well-being of children in Connecticut and beyond by providing policymakers, providers, educators, and partners with a bridge to better and more equitable systems, practices, and policies. Our core initiative areas include system development and integration, evidence-based and best practice treatment dissemination, comprehensive school mental health, and data analysis & quality improvement.

CHDI is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to help improve the quality of Connecticut behavioral health, including substance use and co-occurring disorders, youth and family treatment and prevention and early intervention services. This position will coordinate projects related to evidence-based practice (EBP) dissemination and quality improvement initiatives related to substance use, mental health and basic needs, including Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), as well as youth engagement and community health prevention and early intervention.

Position Description:

• Leading communication and working closely with partners, through workgroups, meetings, advisory councils to support program activities, understand needs, and implement proposed solutions;
• Supervising a project coordinator;
• Developing trainings (e.g., identifying experts in a given training topic, designing or editing PowerPoint slides, editing videos, and uploading content to a learning management system) and materials to support implementation (e.g., training materials, briefs, reports) ;
• Leading and coordinating training and quality assurance activities to support implementation activities, including identifying locations, preparing materials, registration, managing CEUs, providing support at trainings and securing refreshments (with support staff assistance);
• Reviewing literature and connecting with subject matter experts when needed to understand best practices in the field;
• Overseeing data collection and analyzing and reporting on quantitative and qualitative data approaches, including producing high-quality data reports, and continuously improving implementation processes ;
• Maintaining and sharing data and records necessary to complete required funder reports;
• Scheduling, convening, and facilitating virtual and/or in-person team and workgroup meetings;
• Regularly updating the team on progress toward deliverables at internal and external meetings;
• Coordinating project activities and overseeing subcontracts to ensure that all project deliverables and contract requirements are met on time and within budget;
• Ensuring communication between project staff, trainers, and staff receiving training/technical assistance;
• Providing technical assistance and support as needed;
• Communicating complex findings and information in clear, concise, and accurate ways, in verbal and written formats;
• Participating in related committees, workgroups, and internal/external meetings with partners;
• Assisting with other aspects of the initiative and CHDI’s work, including administrative and operational support as needed; and
• Traveling occasionally within the state, as required.

Position Requirements:

• Master’s or Doctoral Degree preferred in psychology, social work, public health, biostatistics, alcohol and drug counseling, child/youth development, or a closely related field;
• Supervisory experience;
• Understanding Connecticut’s youth behavioral health, including substance and co-occurring disorders, youth and family treatment and prevention services, and other service systems (e.g., health, justice, and/or child welfare);
• Must be extremely organized, efficient, and a strong team player;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and time management skills;
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex findings and information in clear, concise, and accurate ways, in verbal and written formats;
• Demonstrated ability in project coordination, program implementation, training, contracts management, supervision, and/or project management;
• Experience applying implementation science, public health principles, and quality improvement strategies to advance healthcare equity, access, and outcomes;
• Experience with identifying data sources, interpreting and utilizing data for program development and/or quality improvement activities;
• Experience with data management and analysis, and developing reports that describe findings; and
• Skills and experience that are preferred, but not required, include: experience in evidence-based treatment models for children/youth with substance use and/or co-occurring disorders (e.g., SBIRT, MET-CBT, MDFT, Wraparound Care Coordination); grant writing; scholarly publication and research/technical reports; evaluation and quality improvement methods, experience using data analytic software (e.g., SPSS, Stata), Excel, and with Google Docs; online survey tools (e.g., Alchemer, Qualtrics).

Compensation & Benefits:

• Compensation Range:  $70,000 to $77,000
• Benefits offered to employees in this role include: A 403b retirement plan with company contribution of up to 10%; CHDI pays 85% of medical/dental insurance premiums including dependents; 9 paid holidays, up to 22 paid time off days, additional paid sick time off, and more.
