The Role
We are looking for a Head of Sales to lead the growth of our member community. This is a senior role reporting directly to the President, and it is the person most responsible for the revenue story of the business — filling offices, welcoming the right members into the space, and building long relationships with the companies who make Versa home.
The right person for this role is a consultative, relationship-driven seller who understands that our product is a partnership, not a desk. Our best conversations happen when a prospect walks the campus, feels the difference, and hears a thoughtful, tailored proposal for how Versa can grow with them. You will be the person leading those conversations — running beautiful tours, building genuine relationships, and closing with warmth and confidence.
You will personally own the pipeline — running tours, managing renewals, executing contracts — while also leading our Community Manager and partnering closely with them on the member experience. We are a small team where everyone helps everyone. The Head of Sales is not above the work of making the space great. If a member needs help and you're there, you help. If a tour is coming in and the coffee bar needs a tidy, you tidy. That's the Versa way.
What You'll Own
Growth & Pipeline
● Own the full sales pipeline — from first inquiry, through tour and follow-up, to signed contract and warm handoff to the Community Manager
● Hit monthly and annual targets for new member revenue across offices, desks, memberships, and event bookings
● Keep HubSpot clean, current, and useful — leads, deals, tours, follow-ups, and a weekly pipeline snapshot the President can review
● Hold rate discipline — close at or near rate card, and bring any proposed discounts to the President for approval
Tours & Acquisition
● Respond promptly and warmly to every inbound inquiry (website, email, phone, walk-ins)
● Lead tours that tell the Versa story — the space, the community, the growth partnership — and help prospects imagine themselves here
● Build a light outbound motion for the kinds of companies we want to attract: established professional firms, growing local teams, and companies opening a Columbus office
● Partner closely with the marketing team — share what prospects are asking about, what's resonating, and what's not
Renewals & Member Growth
● Reach out to members 60–90 days before their contract ends to understand their plans and earn the renewal
● Look for members who are ready to grow into a larger space, take additional offices, or expand their Versa footprint — these conversations are some of our best
● Build genuine relationships with our anchor members so you understand their businesses, their growth, and how Versa fits
Leading the Community Manager
● Partner with the Community Manager as the daily champion of the member experience — their work is what makes our sales story true
● Set shared priorities, coach and develop them, and support their own growth at Versa
● Coordinate on member handoffs, onboarding, events, and anything else where sales and experience intersect
Contracts & Onboarding
● Prepare and execute contracts for offices, memberships, and significant event bookings
● Hand off new members thoughtfully to the Community Manager so their first days feel seamless and welcoming
Building the Function
● Over time, develop the sales playbook, cadences, and tools- consistent and dedicated
● Share what you're learning with leadership — pricing insights, prospect feedback, what's working and what's not
Being Part of the Team
● Show up as a visible, gracious presence in the space — members and prospects should feel your warmth before they feel your pitch
● Help where help is needed — this is a small team and we all pitch in; no one here thinks anything is "not my job"
● Hold yourself to the Versa standard: polished, professional, genuinely kind
How We'll Know It's Working
In your first year, we'll look at:
● New member revenue closed each month and over the year
● Office occupancy — where it is today and where you take it
● Renewal rate on contracts that come up for renewal
● Average contract length and how close we hold to rate card
● The health and accuracy of the pipeline you're running
We'll talk about targets together in your first weeks so you're set up with numbers you believe in and can own.
Who You Are
● 5+ years in consultative B2B sales where relationships, not cold volume, drive the close — flexible office, commercial real estate, boutique hospitality, or professional services backgrounds are all great fits
● A real track record of owning a pipeline and hitting revenue targets in a considered, longer-cycle sale
● CRM-comfortable — HubSpot experience is a plus, but the real requirement is a belief that clean data makes a better sales operation
● Warm, polished, and genuinely hospitable — you're the kind of person prospects remember, and members enjoy seeing
● Commercially sharp — you know how to hold a price, structure a good deal, and close without pressure
● Comfortable in a small team where titles are less important than results and care
● Excited about the idea of building something — the role, the function, and a community
● A thoughtful first-time or experienced people leader who will develop and champion the Community Manager
Schedule & Environment
This is a fully in-office role based at Versa in Grandview. Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility for after-hours tours, events, or prospect meetings.
You will work closely with the President, the Community Manager (your direct report), and our small onsite team. Everyone is visible, everyone's work matters, and we look out for each other.
