Store Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION – POSITION: STATION MANAGER The basic function of the Station Manager is to ensure that the company’s policies and directives are carried out at the store/station level and that the objectives established for the store/station are realized. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Manager is appointed by the supervisor of store operations with approval from the manager of store operations, and reports directly to the supervisor of store operations. Reporting to the manager are attendants, cashiers, image coordinators, and any other store/station personnel. AUTHORITY Manager receives authority from the supervisor of store operations and is delegated the full authority necessary to supervise store/station activities within established company policies. Manager has authority over all store personnel and the authority to delegate duties as necessary to ensure prompt, efficient operations. SPECIFIC DUTIES Establish and maintain close communication and coordination with all store/station personnel to assure attainment of operational goals, objectives and satisfactory customer service. Hire, train, supervise, motivate, evaluate and terminate, as appropriate, personnel of the store; ensure proper documentation and approval for hiring/terminations. Maintain attractive displays using proper floor layout. Provide effective housekeeping practices. Establish and maintain working and safety rules. Ensure the security of the store/station and its contents at all times. Increase sales through genuine customer service and good sales techniques, in cooperation with the supervisor of store operations. Manage paperwork and streamline office workflow. Maintain open communication with office. Provide adequate store supplies while staying within budget guidelines (no unauthorized purchases). Ensure cash control: only authorized persons have access and cash is properly accounted for. Coordinate with the supervisor on promotions to attract new customers and increase sales. Report on ongoing sales, marketing or advertising activities to the supervisor. Maintain price lists, including gas prices, and update as soon as new prices are reported. Prepare daily bank deposits accurately and on time; call deposit information to the main office by 10:30 AM. Take daily stick tank readings and report them. Ensure all reports are accurate and up to date; forward station reports to the main office daily. Prepare work schedules; ensure time sheets, time cards and personnel sheets are correct, up to date and forwarded on time. Control inventory and place orders timely; ensure deliveries are received and documented per policy. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in good working order. Promptly call necessary repairs to the office and document completion. Ensure employees strictly adhere to the company’s check cash policy. Complete any other tasks, assignments and requests as required by the supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES Directly responsible and accountable to the Supervisor of store operations. Establish and adhere to the store budget in coordination with the supervisor (no unauthorized purchases). Ensure smooth and efficient store operation, providing effective leadership. Supervise administrative functions, ensuring accuracy and timely preparation of all reports (due by 12:00 PM). Maintain inventory control; report discrepancies immediately. Control cash: secure handling, verification of deposits on time (bank no later than 10:00 AM). Schedule staff and ensure all hours are covered for efficient customer service. Strict adherence to check cashing policy. Accurate and timely reports and documentation. Inventory control. Minimization of shoplifting. Control of overtime and labor costs. Supervisor satisfaction. Store morale and motivation. Achievement of sales goals. REQUIRES Working phone Valid driver’s license Current car insurance Car in working order Minimum of 45 hours per week, unless authorized otherwise. Ability to work extra hours if required.
