Civil Litigation Paralegal

A respected and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to support its litigation team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of civil litigation experience. Insurance defense experience and North Carolina paralegal certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and draft pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Review, index, organize, and summarize records and documents.
• Prepare medical chronologies and medical billing spreadsheets.
• Electronically file pleadings and other documents in state and federal courts.
• Schedule hearings, depositions, and other case-related events.
• Maintain case databases, client records, and legal documents.
• Prepare trial and hearing binders.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
• Provide litigation support to attorneys throughout the life of a case.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of civil litigation paralegal experience.
• Insurance defense experience preferred.
• North Carolina paralegal certification preferred.
• Experience with e-Discovery and litigation support platforms preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
