This creates investment and engineering efficiency while improving volume (scale) on parts for material cost leverage. This strategy also enables flexibility with each platform underpinning a bandwidth of vehicles that can be interchangeably produced in all planned assembly plants. As a Platform Execution Engineer, this pivotal, highly visible role sits within our Architecture, Program Engineering & Delivery (APD) department shaping future model programs to be leaders in the industry using the platform approach. The APD-Platform Execution team acts on early insights with the Product Development (PD) team to optimize all aspects of new model production. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week. #LI-Hybrid#LI-AR3 What you'll do...Drive manufacturing point of view in developing specific, near future vehicle platform derivativesDrive a Design For Assembly (DFA) mindset into new model vehicle part development by regularly collaborating with the PD team to minimize facility & tooling impact, improve quality, and reduce labor requirementsInitiate and collaborate with Manufacturing Core Teams on the development of the build sequence, installation processes, and tooling systems for new product launchesQuantify impact to manufacturing to launch new model programs including facility, tooling, and labor for all assembly functionsUtilize virtual tools, such as Active Workspace and TeamCenter, to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for assembly Remotely assess existing facility layouts to analyze assembly processes using Vault and AutoCAD for planning future workAssess all product designs/concepts for adherence to our Global Manufacturing RequirementsEvaluate "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programsEvaluate and assess competitive vehicle information i.e. benchmarking relative to manufacturing and processing of end item parts, sub-assemblies, and fastening/joining to determine incorporation on future product and develop next-generation ideasCollaborate in a multi-functional team of Program Delivery teams, Product Development, Marketing, Program Planning, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs, etc. in early product planning workshopsTravel to our North American assembly plants for site reviews as requiredFull timePosting Date: 2026-08-31
