Job Summary

The Restoration Estimator & Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth through client development, relationship management, project estimating, and strategic business development activities. This role serves as a key link between customers, operations, and project teams by identifying opportunities, preparing accurate project estimates, and supporting successful project execution.

The ideal candidate possesses strong estimating experience in commercial restoration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to develop long-term relationships with property managers, consultants, building owners, general contractors, and industry partners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Business Development:

• Develop and maintain relationships with property managers, consultants, engineers, architects, building owners, facility managers, and general contractors.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial restoration marketplace.
• Generate leads through networking, industry associations, trade shows, cold calling, client visits, and referrals.
• Conduct customer visits and project site assessments to understand client needs and identify opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective and existing clients.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with current customers to increase repeat business.
• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and upcoming project opportunities.
• Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to develop strategies for market growth.
• Track business development efforts and provide activity reports as requested.
• Assist with marketing initiatives, client events, and industry networking opportunities.

Estimating Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and proposal documents to develop accurate and complete cost estimates.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and analyze subcontractor and vendor bids for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and Project Management teams to ensure a clear understanding of project scope, assumptions, and requirements.
• Evaluate project risks and develop appropriate contingencies to mitigate potential cost overruns.
• Prepare, review, and present cost estimates and detailed project budgets to management and, when appropriate, clients.
• Negotiate pricing and scope with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive and best‑value proposals.
• Monitor industry trends, material pricing, and labor costs to ensure estimates remain current and competitive.
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation, including estimates, change orders, scope revisions, and supporting files.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of company‑wide estimating processes, standards, and best practices.

Client & Project Support

• Serve as primary customer contact throughout the sales and preconstruction process.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests.
• Assist operations teams in resolving customer concerns and maintaining client satisfaction.
• Participate in project progress meetings when necessary.
• Support collection efforts by maintaining strong customer relationships and assisting with project closeout activities.

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business marketing, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience  within commercial restoration, concrete repair, or related construction fields
• Previous business development, sales, or client relationship management experience preferred
• Proven ability to develop and maintain customer relationships  resulting in revenue growth
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
• Proficiency in construction estimating software
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
• Experience in budgeting, scheduling, and controlling project costs
• Strong negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills
• High level of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a demonstrated problem‑solving ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk active construction sites and perform site inspections.

• Ability to climb ladders and access roofs, scaffolding, and other elevated work areas as required.

• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

• Ability to travel between job sites, customer locations, and RAM offices.

Travel

• Travel to and from job sites is required. RAM Construction Services will reimburse eligible business‑related travel expenses in accordance with company policy.

Work Environment

• This position involves a combination of office work, client-facing activities, and visits to active construction jobsites. The employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions, noise levels, and typical construction site environments.

• Regular local travel with occasional overnight travel as business needs require.
