Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will support the Controller in overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls within a consumer goods environment. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, experience managing a team, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with FP&A, supply chain, and operations to ensure accurate and timely financial information. Key Responsibilities Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP Manage general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions, including staff supervision Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules Partner with FP&A on budget variance analysis and departmental expense reporting Coordinate with external auditors on interim and year-end audits Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, and COGS analysis specific to consumer goods operations (e.g., promotional allowances, trade spend, rebates, chargebacks) Ensure compliance with internal controls and support SOX documentation, if applicable Assist in evaluating and implementing accounting system enhancements and process improvements Perform technical accounting research on complex transactions (revenue recognition, leases, inventory reserves) Support ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested by the Controller/CFO Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including consumer goods, retail, or distribution industry exposure Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills Experience with inventory/COGS accounting and trade spend a plus Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations and commercial teams #J-18808-Ljbffr
