Senior Project ManagerWestwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an ambitious and talented professional to join our transportation service team in as a Senior Project Manager. This is an opportunity to join Westwood's highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. Our ideal candidate will have 10+ years of diverse roadway design and project management experience supporting public sector infrastructure transportation design projects. This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact and sustained growth of a transportation design team.RequirementsManage the design and delivery of multidiscipline projects in a profitable mannerSupervise the work of project managers and engineersDevelop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resourcesReview, interpret and act on business metrics, including utilization, backlog, work in process and account receivablesPrepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projects and complex long term projectsDevelop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget deliveryComplete monthly project accounting and invoicingImplement and maintain QA/QC proceduresParticipate in contract bidding, provide limited observation during construction, review submittals and RFIsResolve design conflicts and field construction issuesRepresent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agenciesWrite proposals, prepare qualification packages and lead interviewsRecruit, grow, mentor and train staffBuild relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partnersLead business development activitiesNegotiate contract terms and conditions with TxDOT and other governmental entitiesEnsures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey serviceLead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalismRequired SkillsOutgoing, friendly, approachableExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to manage staff and direct resources effectivelyAbility to effectively communicate at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to manage complex transportation design projects in a profitable mannerDemonstrated ability to manage projects under the TxDOT delivery processExtensive knowledge of geometric design and other related design elementsKnowledge and experience with the full roadway project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final designGeneral knowledge of construction with experience providing construction phase servicesTrack record of successfully winning and delivering projectsExperience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategiesDemonstrated ability to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff.Ability to coach and motivate othersDetail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptualRequired ExperienceBS in Civil EngineeringLicensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in TX10+ years of progressive experience in transportation design and project managementThis position may require travel to project sites and other Westwood offices throughout the United States
