Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a Level II trauma center background and active VA or Compact RN license for a 13-week assignment.

Job Details

• Operating Room unit setting,
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM),
• 13-week assignment length,
• On-call requirement of 3-4 call shifts every 6 weeks, 8 hours each,
• EPIC OP Time (OR) Traveler charting system used,
• Floating, if required, follows client staff rotation and Joint Commission standards,

Job Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required in hand,
• BLS certification required,
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required,
• Level II Trauma center experience preferred, including trauma, neuro, and ortho spine cases,
• Ortho skills preferred,
• EPIC experience required, with training class attendance mandatory unless recently worked at facility within past 6 months,

Additional Information

• Provide direct surgical nursing care within the Operating Room,
• Smoke/nicotine free facility,
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) unless approved exemption obtained,
• COVID vaccination or qualified exemption required,
• Up to 7 hours of non-billable training modules required during orientation,
• Previous VHC staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler,
• RTO requests should be minimal and submitted prior to assignment start, with holiday coverage expected,
• On-call areas such as OT, IR, and Cath Lab require residing within 30 miles or 30 minutes of campus
