Medical Director, PsychiatryWe are looking for a skilled Medical Director, Psychiatry Fredericksburg Health Care Center, Mental Health will be responsible for managing the psychiatric care in outpatient mental health clinics in the division(s) to which the supervisees of the Medical Director of Community Based Outpatient Clinic Mental Health are assigned.The Richmond Veterans Affairs Medical Center, located in Richmond, Virginia, is a level 1a 349-bed facility offering primary, secondary, and tertiary health care in medicine, surgery, neurology, rehabilitation medicine, intermediate care, acute and sustaining spinal cord injury, skilled nursing home care, and palliative care. The medical center has community-based outpatient clinics located in Charlottesville, Fredericksburg, Emporia, Henrico and Spotsylvania Counties, and a strong and mutually beneficial affiliation with the Virginia Commonwealth University. Residency programs exist in virtually all general and specialty areas of medicine, rehabilitation, surgery, psychiatry, and dentistry. The duties and responsibilities of the Physician include, but are not limited to the following:Conducts history, physical exams, and mental status exams on assigned patients.Completes intake assessments and formulates diagnosis.Develops and presents treatment plans to the multidisciplinary treatment team.Orders all necessary laboratory and radiological assessments.Initiates consults and referrals as indicated.Maintains effective and up-to-date documentation of patient encounters.Performs supervisory duties including hiring, orientating, addressing conduct and performance, conducting professional practice and performance/proficiency reviews, resolving patient complaints, managing clinics, and managing time and leave.Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; changes to these hours are negotiable but this is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.This is an Open Continuous Announcement.
