Dietary Cook

Schedule: Friday through Monday
Available Shifts: 4:30 AM - 1:00 PM or 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Location: 900 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas, CA

Position Overview

Encinitas Post-Acute is seeking a dependable and experienced Dietary Cook to join our dietary team. The ideal candidate enjoys preparing meals, maintaining food safety standards, and helping provide nutritious and appealing meals for our residents.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.

Follow special diet instructions and resident meal preferences.

Ensure food is properly prepared, stored, and served at the correct temperature.

Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.

Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines.

Monitor food supplies and report inventory needs.

Work closely with the dietary team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.

Assist with kitchen cleaning and other dietary duties as needed.

Qualifications

Previous cooking experience preferred, preferably in a healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care setting.

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.

Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.

Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail.

Food handler certification as required by applicable regulations.
