Investment Analyst

Job Summary Oregon State Treasury is recruiting for the position of Investment Analyst 3, Diversifying Strategies. The primary purpose of this position is to support the day‑to‑day investment and administrative activities of the Diversifying Strategies Portfolio. Responsibilities Receive and review investment presentations and analyze the risk and return attributes of proposed investments, including comparative evaluation against competing opportunities. Assess general partner track record and conduct a thorough inventory and evaluation of all terms and conditions. Assist in the assembly of overall due diligence investment memoranda and perform on‑site due diligence visits with Investment Officers. Research and analyze current trends in Diversifying Strategies, including partnership conditions, interest alignment, and economic influences. Perform portfolio analysis and produce reports on performance, diversification and liquidity to assure compliance with investment guidelines. Assist in the preparation of board and committee materials such as memos and presentations. Build and maintain an investment partnerships of interest pipeline for portfolio construction decisions and maintain competitive landscapes. Provide general support to Investment Officers for ad‑hoc tasks and maintain an investment meetings database. Coordinate investment closings with relevant legal staff as needed. Work Schedule This position offers a hybrid schedule. In‑office work at the Treasury’s Tigard office will be required at least two days per quarter, with a minimum of more than once per week during onboarding and for collaboration. Salary Range $86,964 – $133,680 annually. Job Classification Classified as Investment Analyst 3, this is an SEIU represented position. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance (or equivalent) plus six years of professional experience in a related analytical, operational, or project‑management role. Alternatively, a valid CFA certification with five years of experience. Or any combination of education and experience equivalent to nine years of experience supporting the required knowledge and skills. A Master’s Degree in Business or Finance (or equivalent) can substitute for one year of required experience. Desired Attributes – Job Specific Experience in institutional investment industry with demonstrated career progression. Familiarity with diversifying strategies investments. Experience with portfolio construction and risk‑management concepts. Proficiency with eVestment, FactSet, Bloomberg, and advanced Excel. Experience writing due diligence reports and creating investment presentations. Pursuit of CFA/CAIA designations or an advanced degree is a plus.
