SALES MANAGERThis Is a Sales Position

Rent One is looking for an experienced, competitive salesperson who knows how to find opportunities, build relationships, overcome objections and close business.

This is not a position for someone who wants to wait behind a counter for customers to walk in. Our Sales & Growth Manager is expected to actively generate business through incoming leads, outbound follow-up, existing-customer relationships, referrals, former-customer reactivation and community outreach.

You will personally own a sales goal, be measured on your production and have the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on the results you deliver.

If you have succeeded in wireless, furniture, mattress, automotive, home improvement, insurance, route sales, business development or another commission-driven sales environment, we want to talk to you.

 

What You Will Own

The Sales & Growth Manager is responsible for increasing store sales, growing the customer base and helping the entire store improve its sales performance.

Your primary responsibilities include:

• Personally generating and closing new rental agreements.
• Responding quickly to web, phone, text and in-store leads.
• Maintaining an accurate quote count and follow up on all leads.
• Consistently working in a CRM to follow through with existing and potential leads.
• Use social media to promote sales, in-store products, and community relations. 
• Building referral business through strong customer relationships.
• Asking the right questions, recommending appropriate products and confidently asking for the sale.
• Tracking personal activity, follow-up and sales results.
• Helping store employees improve product knowledge, sales conversations and closing skills.
• Coordinating delivery and installation while maintaining ownership of the customer experience through completion.
• Maintaining clean, attractive and properly presented merchandise.
• Supporting the Store Manager in reaching the store's overall sales and growth goals.

This position is focused on sales and growth. While every employee may occasionally help during unusually busy periods, this role does not cover general store duties, collections support or another coworker job duties.

Sales Expectations

This is a performance-driven position with clear monthly expectations.

To qualify for the monthly sales incentive:

• The Sales & Growth Manager must personally deliver at least 6% of the store's beginning agreements.
• The store must achieve at least 13.5% combined agreements delivered for the month.

When both requirements are met, the Sales & Growth Manager is eligible for the following monthly incentive:

• 6.01%–6.50% personally delivered: $300
• 6.51%–7.00% personally delivered: $600
• 7.01%–8.00% personally delivered: $900
• Above 8.00%: An additional $150 for every full percentage point delivered

The better you perform, the more you can earn.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven success in a commission-based, quota-driven or performance-incentive sales position.
• A demonstrated ability to prospect, follow up, overcome objections and close sales.
• Someone who is comfortable being held accountable for an individual production goal.
• A competitive, self-motivated approach and the discipline to follow up until the customer makes a decision.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfort using phone, text, email and digital platforms to manage sales opportunities.
• The ability to learn products quickly and confidently recommend solutions.
• Experience in wireless, furniture, mattress, automotive, home improvement, insurance, route sales, business development or a similar sales environment is strongly preferred.
• A valid driver's license and driving record that meets company standards.

Previous rent-to-own experience is not required. Proven sales ability is.

Compensation

• $24 - $26/Hour Base Pay
• Monthly performance incentives
• Approximately $62,000 in target annual earnings
• Additional earning opportunity for performance above goal

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Previous rent-to-own experience is desirable, but not necessary, we train!
• 1 - 3 years of sales experience in retail environment required. 
• Must have valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that complies with organizational standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Utilize socail media to build an engaged audience and seek additonal sales.
• Ensure client satisfaction by determining product needs, facilitating the sales process, scheduling the delivery/installation, and follow up.
• Verify the store merchandise is clean, attractive, and organized.
• Rental order form verification.
• Assist the store manager in the profitable, efficient, and organized operation of the store.
• Utilize digital communications platforms for managing sales leads (text, phone, computer/email).
• At times, the sales manager will assist other co-workers in the store such as during times of peak activity, absences, and planned time off.
