About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in Stepdown or ICU License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - First-time travelers accepted - Ability to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Stepdown Intermediate Care. The shift is 3x12 days, working from 07:00 to 19:30. There are no call responsibilities. Every other weekend work is required. Floating to like units or care of like patients is necessary. Every other holiday work is also required. Restricted time off is not allowed during early July. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in a Stepdown or ICU setting. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Charting experience with Cerner is mandatory. The unit has a total of 22 beds. Daily patient census is around 18. The unit supports interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy and Social Services. Patient diagnoses may include pneumonia, sepsis, CHF, and post-surgical cases. Required skills include managing cardiac telemetry and peripheral line care. There may be a need to manage various treatments and procedures. Additional experience in patient management and care is preferred.
