Job Description

This role focuses on operating welding equipment to fabricate and bond metal materials according to detailed blueprints and production specifications. You plan and execute welding projects, ensure all welds meet quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support high performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding machines and related equipment to bond and fabricate metal materials according to production requirements.
• Interpret and read blueprints accurately to plan work, understand project specifications, and determine layout and measurements.
• Determine appropriate welding positions and identify the type of metal to be fused for each project.
• Select, set up, and adjust welding equipment and tools to match job specifications and material requirements.
• Measure and mark materials using tape measures and other tools to ensure precise cuts, fits, and weld placements.
• Perform welding operations that meet established standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to blueprint and production standards.
• Follow all quality management system (QMS) policies and procedures to ensure consistent and sustainable process outputs.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by following standardized processes and identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, and handle equipment and tools in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Work effectively in a production environment, meeting daily output goals while maintaining high quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in welding techniques with a minimum of 1 year of welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately for fabrication and welding projects.
• Experience working in a production environment with a focus on meeting output and quality targets.
• Skill in using tape measures and other measuring tools to perform precise layout and material preparation.
• Competence in operating welding machines and related fabrication equipment.
• Understanding of basic quality standards and specifications related to welds and fabricated components.
• Ability to follow established QMS policies and procedures and adhere to standardized work processes.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certificate or Associate degree in welding preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior technical schooling or formal training in welding or metal fabrication.
• Comfort working with modern production machinery and tools in a manufacturing setting.
• Attention to detail and strong focus on producing high-quality welds that meet specifications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an open, team-oriented production environment.
• Willingness to support continuous improvement initiatives and adapt to evolving processes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hobart, IN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hobart,IN.
