Position Overview

The Packaging Designer Assistant supports the creation and execution of packaging and display designs from concept through to press-ready files. This role collaborates closely with Design and Marketing teams to ensure brand consistency and effective product presentation. It offers hands-on experience with major national brands in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.\n
\n
Responsibilities Of The Packaging Designer Assistant

• Collaborate with the Packaging Designer and Corporate Creative Services team to develop design strategies across print and digital platforms.
\n
• Support the Marketing department with creative insights and recommendations on various projects.
\n
• Manage time efficiently to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
\n
• Produce and finalize packaging and display mechanicals to ready-for-press (RFP) standards.
\n
• Build mock-up packaging to test dimensions and prepare physical samples for meetings.
\n
• Assist in photo shoots to ensure alignment with design objectives.
\n
• Partner with Packaging Developers and Production Artists to maintain design integrity.
\n
• Retouch images for packaging and display materials as needed.
\n
• Use Airtable to track projects through the go-to-market packaging process.
\n
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to advance shared business goals.

Required Experience/Skills For The Packaging Designer Assistant

\n

\n
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in packaging design and POS displays.
\n
• Strong creative, conceptual, and organizational design skills, with the ability to execute from concept to completion.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
\n
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
\n
• Experience creating ready-for-press (RFP) mechanicals, photography knowledge, and photo retouching skills.
\n
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems.

Preferred Experience/Skills For The Packaging Designer Assistant

\n

\n
• Knowledge of packaging production processes and materials.
\n
• Experience with licensed branding and interpreting brand style guides for product extensions is a plus.
\n
• Familiarity with Airtable or other project tracking/product management software such as PLM is a plus.
\n
• Experience working with national retail brands.
\n
• Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
\n
• Ability to adapt designs to meet cost targets and brand standards.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field is required.
