Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Registered Nurse

Job Summary Loyal Source Government Services is looking for 10 full‑time Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Registered Nurse at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. The role requires delivering professional medical services and quality care to our Veteran population, providing high‑quality, compassionate and consistent patient care at the LSCVAMC. Duties Provide acute, sub‑acute, and long‑term rehabilitation services for patients with spinal cord injuries or related neurological disorders. These units offer interdisciplinary, patient‑centered care that addresses the complex medical, functional, and psychosocial needs of this population. Perform patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, bowel care, dressing changes, assistance with activities of daily living, interdisciplinary team coordination, monitoring, admissions, discharge, internal and external transfers, delegating assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures. Assist patients with spinal cord injury/disorder to achieve and maintain optimum physical and psychosocial well‑being. Stabilize patients’ conditions, initiate rehabilitation to maximize functional independence, and prepare for transition to long‑term care or home. Qualifications Two years of Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) experience within the last three years. Graduated from a professional nursing school approved by a state‑accrediting agency and accredited by ACEN or CCNE. Current license from the Ohio Board of Nursing or a multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact State. Current certification in CPR by an American Heart Association vendor. Current Basic Life Support certification. Basic typing and PC computer skills. Additional Information VA operations are 24/7, including holidays. Shifts are primarily 12‑hour, with some units offering 8‑hour and 10‑hour shifts. RNs must be available on days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
