Studio Jeremyville brings the creative vision, transforming the space through art, design and storytelling to create an immersive destination unlike anywhere else in the city.

As part of our founding team, you’ll help bring the Softville world to life, creating a genuine connection for every guest through hospitality, community and care.

Role Overview

The Server is responsible for providing friendly, attentive and knowledgeable service to every Softville guest.

Working as part of the front-of-house team, you will help create a welcoming environment, take orders, serve desserts and beverages, maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the store, and ensure every guest receives the high standard of service Softville is known for.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, connecting with people and working in a fast-paced environment. You should be hands-on, reliable and comfortable working as part of a close-knit team.

Guest Experience

• Provide warm, friendly and attentive service to every guest.
• Greet guests and create a welcoming first impression.
• Take orders accurately and confidently.
• Answer questions about the menu, ingredients and products.
• Make thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences.
• Deliver food, desserts and beverages efficiently and professionally.
• Check in with guests to ensure they are enjoying their experience.
• Handle guest questions and concerns with professionalism and a positive attitude.
• Create memorable experiences that reflect the Softville brand.

Service & Operations

• Follow all service procedures and company standards.
• Maintain an efficient and organised service flow during busy periods.
• Prepare and maintain service areas before, during and after service.
• Ensure orders are accurate and presented to Softville standards.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Restock front-of-house supplies and products as required.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen, counter team and management.
• Support teammates wherever needed during service.

Food & Product Standards

• Develop strong knowledge of Softville's menu, products and ingredients.
• Understand and communicate allergen information accurately.
• Ensure desserts, food and beverages are handled and presented correctly.
• Follow portioning, presentation and product-quality standards.
• Report any product-quality or equipment issues to management.

Cleanliness & Food Safety

• Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming guest environment.
• Clean tables, service areas and equipment throughout the shift.
• Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Follow NYC Health Department food safety requirements and company policies.
• Complete cleaning and operational tasks as assigned.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and uniform presentation.

Teamwork

• Work collaboratively with servers, counter staff, kitchen staff and management.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with the team.
• Support teammates during busy service periods.
• Contribute to a positive and professional workplace culture.
• Be willing to assist with tasks outside your primary responsibilities when needed.

Skills & Experience

• Previous hospitality, restaurant, café, dessert or customer service experience preferred.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great guest experiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn menus, ingredients and product information quickly.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Food Handler Certification (NYC) or willingness to obtain.
• Previous serving or table-service experience is a plus.
