Role Description The Low Voltage Technician role is a full‑time, hybrid position based in Kansas City, MO, with some work‑from‑home tasks such as documentation, remote troubleshooting, and coordination. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining low‑voltage systems such as security panels, fire alarms, CCTV cameras, access control, and structured cabling. The technician will perform on‑site diagnostics, testing, and troubleshooting of systems, ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures, and complete service reports and documentation. This role also involves collaborating with project managers and other technicians, communicating clearly with customers, and occasionally providing support for after‑hours service calls. Qualifications Strong electrical maintenance and troubleshooting skills for low‑voltage systems. Solid understanding of electricity principles and safe handling of electrical equipment. Knowledge of basic electrical engineering concepts applied to low‑voltage installations. Experience working with security systems, fire alarms, access control, CCTV, and structured wiring is highly beneficial. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Comfort with using hand tools, test equipment, and diagnostic devices safely and accurately. Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to customer sites in the Kansas City area. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in low‑voltage/electrical systems is a plus.
