Histotechnologist

Histotechnologist position performing tissue preparation and processing for whole exome/genome sequencing laboratory at a diagnostics company. Role involves histological preparations, case management, equipment qualification, and potential supervisory responsibilities depending on experience level.

Responsibilities

• Perform histological tissue preparations for sequencing with minimal errors
• Conduct microdissection, slide staining, and sample processing within department turnaround time goals
• Independently perform testing and reagent preparation after training and competency verification
• Participate in validation studies and reagent qualification processes
• Train staff on departmental procedures and provide general laboratory supervision

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in histotechnician program or biological/chemical sciences
• HTL (ASCP) certification required
• 2+ years of related histology experience
• One year of histology experience within past 5 years or 9-month histotechnician training program completion
• Proficiency with Google Suites and Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities
