Deposit Operations Specialist

Job Summary The Deposits Operations Specialist assists in processing NSF returns, non‑post items, stop payment, and RDIs in a timely and accurate manner to ensure compliance and regulatory standards are met. The role provides support to internal banking center staff and other departments, performing account maintenance and assisting with electronic services such as ACH, debit card disputes, inquiries, online & mobile banking products, court orders, and general deposit related tasks. Essential Responsibilities Perform CIF and account maintenance functions. Complete deposit related verification and confirmation requests. Process returns of disputed and/or unauthorized transactions related to ACH, debit card, and/or check paper items. Perform, review, and/or verify the accuracy of all deposit account maintenance and transactions, including checking, savings, IRA, HSA, and CD accounts. Process subpoena, levy, and garnishment documents in a timely and accurate manner. Process and maintain returned mail according to procedure. Assist in processing exception items and notices as assigned. Assist departments and banking center personnel with e‑banking related inquiries or troubleshooting for online & mobile banking, including add‑on features such as bill pay and P2P payment applications. Assist with debit card order verifications, compromise fraud card alerts, disputes and inquiries, including transaction management, travel and limit restrictions. Provide superior customer service support to internal banking centers and departments as requested. Create and maintain desktop procedures for all job functions. Ensure departmental functions are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies & procedures. Perform duties related to the Bank Secrecy Act under the guidance of the BSA Officer. Skills and Abilities Understanding and knowledge of banking regulations. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. Attention to minute details of projects or tasks. Advanced organization and time‑management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with associates, including executive & senior management and subject matter experts. Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a problem‑solving ability. Education, Experience, & Qualifications 4‑year college degree preferred; high‑school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years experience in the banking industry, demonstrated in an operations area. Prior deposit operations experience preferred. Physical Requirements Frequent sitting and/or standing; communication, reach, and manipulation of objects, tools, and controls typical of an office/bank environment. Lifting items weighing up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc. Working Conditions Typical office environment, indoor and environmentally controlled. Noise level typical of most office environments. Monday through Friday work week; evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Extended viewing of computer screens.
