Bolstered by Waterloo Counseling Center and a passionate team of over 250 dedicated employees and volunteers, THA is at the forefront of promoting healthcare equity and accessibility throughout the state.THA's Kind Clinic Part Time Medical Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality patient care during clinic operating hours and reports to the Clinic Administrator. This position is based at Kind Clinic San Antonio.What You Would Do:Effectively room and prepare patients for clinic visitObtain and record patient medical histories, including allergies, family, social and surgical history and other information for medical recordsAcquire vital signsAssist with phlebotomy and lab specimen processing as needed during clinic hours of operationDispense medication and provide STI treatments to include injections in accordance with clinician directive and existing Standing Delegation Orders (SDOs)Act as a liaison between the laboratory, clinician, and patientsEvaluate provider requests for accuracy and completeness, orders, verify labeling/identification, and follow appropriate protocol in handling specimensThoroughly clean/stock exam roomsAssist clinic staff and Clinic Administrator in monitoring inventory levels and verifies receipt of supplies in accordance with established policies and procedureUtilize and promotes infection control measures and universal precautions to maintain high quality of health and safety during clinic operationComplete annual clinical competenciesMaintain a system of confidentiality according to clinic's policies and procedures and per HIPAA guidelinesFoster teamwork within the clinicParticipate in staff, planning, in-service, and other meetings as neededPerform other duties as assignedHow You Would Describe Your Skills:You have a passion and connection to the communities we serveYou "love" what you do, you seek to serve missionListening is one of your key strengthsYou love team buildingYou feel comfortable with technology and learning new softwareYou are the model of the organization's values and people can readily point to you as an example of how to 'be'You balance People and ProcessYou have an attention to detail but can see the big pictureYou value great benefits and a mission driven work cultureCompensationBased on the responsibilities and requirements of this position, the starting hourly rate is $20.80.
