Lead Developer

Our company is in search of a talented Lead Software Developer to join the team in Columbus, OH and play a crucial role in shaping the future of a widely utilized access management platform. This position will oversee the technical development, steering the transformation of a legacy platform into a scalable, secure, and modern access management solution.Duties:Implement industry-standard coding techniques to translate requirements and architectural blueprints into code, with a primary focus on Java and contemporary application development methodologies.Engage in the revamping of the platform, converting an outdated application into a scalable, secure, and modern access management solution.Utilize AI-driven development tools and emerging AI technologies to enhance engineering efficiency, expedite platform modernization efforts, and explore ways to integrate AI capabilities into future solutions.Address and resolve complex technical hurdles in existing systems, identifying opportunities for architectural enhancements, performance improvements, and operational efficiencies.Create, test, and deliver software components and services while adhering to stringent standards for quality, security, reliability, and maintainability.Aid in the refinement and interpretation of business and technical requirements.Adhere to all ISO-9000 procedures and SDLC guidelines relevant to the work unit, continually seeking enhancements to development procedures and engineering practices.Lead architectural reviews, technology assessments, and long-term platform modernization strategies.Implement third-party solutions for applications, analyzing the impact, risks, and long-term sustainability of proposed solutions.Participate in load, capacity, scalability, reliability, and performance testing and analysis.Take part in production support activities, troubleshooting complex issues that affect application, infrastructure, and customers across the platform.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is a must.Minimum of 5 years of software development experience, with significant expertise in Java and enterprise application development.Proficiency in reading, understanding, debuging, and developing software in C, with experience in working on or updating legacy applications.Thorough understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, proxies, and authentication technologies.Experience with Object-Oriented Design, REST APIs, Spring Framework, JavaScript, React, and modern web application development.Familiarity with Linux (or UNIX), Windows, and relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.Experience with OAuth is a plus.Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, and CI/CD practices.Experience with cloud technologies, containerization, and modern software delivery practices is preferred.Experience with AI-driven development tools and emerging AI technologies is advantageous.Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and mentoring capabilities.Ability to manage hands-on development, architecture, operational support, and technical leadership duties.
