Outside Sales Engineer Metal Fabrication Southern California Territory
A growing Southern California custom metal fabrication company is seeking an Outside Sales professional to drive new business and expand market presence.
The company delivers custom sheet metal fabrication, machining, welding, and engineered solutions supporting customers across construction, OEM manufacturing, electrical infrastructure, aerospace, and industrial markets.
With strong in-house engineering support, the team works closely with customers early in the design stage to improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and execute complex fabrication projects.
The business is targeting $10M in revenue this year with a strategic plan to grow to $20M, and this role will play a key part in that expansion.
Responsibilities
Develop new business through prospecting, networking, and in-person meetings
Build relationships with OEMs, contractors, and industrial customers
Identify opportunities early in project design and collaborate with engineering
Review drawings and understand fabrication requirements prior to quoting
Lead negotiations and close fabrication projects
Spend significant time in the field developing new accounts
Qualifications
5+ years of outside sales experience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing
Experience developing new business and opening accounts
Ability to read and understand technical drawings
Comfortable working with engineering and production teams
Southern California industry relationships preferred
50% Travel
Compensation
Base salary $70K$80K (flexible for strong candidates up to ~$100K+)
Uncapped commission with strong earning potential (Realistic OTE 150K)
This is a growth-focused role for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing new customers, and winning complex fabrication projects.
