Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled, innovative, and team-oriented Pediatric Physiatrist to take on the role of Division Chief of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the Barrow Neurological Institute within our organization. This leadership position entails managing the clinical, educational, and research functions of the Pediatric PM&R Division while ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care.

The Division Chief will guide a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing comprehensive care for pediatric patients facing neuromuscular disorders, congenital conditions, and trauma-related injuries, while also promoting program development, quality improvement, and academic excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

• Deliver both inpatient and outpatient care to pediatric PM&R patients.
• Create personalized treatment plans utilizing medical, therapeutic, and rehabilitative strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neurology, orthopedics, surgery, and therapy services.
• Share responsibilities for the inpatient rehabilitation unit, consult services, outpatient physiatry, and multidisciplinary clinics.
• Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes and safety.

Administrative & Division Leadership

• Oversee daily operations, growth, and quality enhancement initiatives for the PM&R Division.
• Recruit, mentor, assess, and support physicians and clinical staff.
• Track productivity, quality, and financial performance; engage in budget planning.
• Establish quality metrics and set annual goals for physicians.
• Act as a liaison between the division, organizational leadership, and PCMG administration.

Education & Research

• Provide educational guidance for medical students, residents, fellows, and allied health professionals.
• Engage in teaching rounds, lectures, and academic conferences.
• Promote and support clinical research initiatives within Pediatric PM&R.

Collaboration & Outreach

• Foster relationships with internal departments, external institutions, and community partners.
• Support referral pathways, outreach initiatives, and satellite expansions as necessary.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (pediatric subspecialty preferred).
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Arizona.
• Proven clinical excellence in Pediatric PM&R.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical and/or academic environments.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentorship abilities.
• Dedication to education, research, and program development.
• Experience or interest in botulinum toxin and phenol injections is preferred.
