Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their fast-paced Internal Medicine department. Pay: $20.10 - $40.00 / hour. This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency leveling system. Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 8a-7p and Thursday 9a-4p. As an Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician you will be a liaison between internists and clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics requested by doctors. You will be involved with client contact through phone calls, email, and in person conversations. Additionally, you will assist with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, fill prescriptions, take x‑rays, collect lab samples, and perform anesthesia and phlebotomy. Responsibilities Set up constant rate infusions (CRI). Calculate all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.). Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia. Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures. Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway), and clean and maintain equipment. Discharge IM patients from the hospital, providing basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations. Perform additional job duties as assigned.
