Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator
Our client located in Austin, Texas has an immediate need for a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Coordinator. This is an opportunity to support a multi year, large scale aviation infrastructure program encompassing terminal expansion, airfield improvements, and campus wide upgrades.
Client Profile
Our client is a large, recognized organization specializing in aviation construction and infrastructure. This position will support a major airport development program involving complex terminal, airside, landside, utility, technology, and operational infrastructure.
Building Information Modeling Coordinator Role
The BIM Coordinator will support multidisciplinary BIM coordination and digital construction activities across a complex aviation infrastructure program.
This is a hands on technical position responsible for coordinating models, identifying conflicts, maintaining BIM standards, supporting field teams, and ensuring accurate digital project information throughout design and construction.
Responsibilities include:
Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, civil, utility, technology, and specialty contractor BIM models
Perform clash detection and model coordination utilizing Navisworks Manage
Facilitate or participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings and track issues through resolution
Review models for compliance with established BIM Execution Plans and project standards
Maintain federated project models and model coordination workflows
Support integration of specialized airport systems including baggage handling, passenger boarding bridges, security systems, IT, telecom, and airfield infrastructure
Utilize Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, and Autodesk Construction Cloud to support project delivery
Coordinate model information between design teams, contractors, subcontractors, and field personnel
Support LOD 400 and LOD 500 model development and record model requirements
Assist with COBie and asset information requirements for project closeout and facility management
Support 4D construction sequencing and phasing activities around active airport operations
Review laser scan and point cloud information to compare installed conditions against project models
Identify coordination issues before they impact field installation or construction schedules
Background Profile
Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, BIM, VDC, or related technical discipline preferred
3+ years of BIM, VDC, design, engineering, or construction technology experience
Experience supporting large, complex construction projects
Aviation, airport, transportation, transit, or major infrastructure experience strongly preferred
Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Navisworks Manage
Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360
Civil 3D experience strongly preferred
Hands on experience performing clash detection and multidisciplinary model coordination
Understanding of BIM Execution Plans and model standards
Familiarity with LOD requirements and construction documentation
COBie or asset data management experience is a plus
GIS, Esri ArcGIS, Dynamo, Python, laser scanning, or point cloud experience is a plus
Must be able to successfully complete required airport security and background screening
Valid drivers license
