Pipe WelderResponsible for completing each weld to the specified standards using appropriate equipment and materials.Primary ResponsibilitiesSelect equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.Lay out, position, align, and fit components togetherBolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure in position for weldingSet up equipment and weld parts together using arc, gas shielded arc, submerged arc or gas welding equipment. May assemble parts by bolting and rivetingMay repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand toolsUse a variety of arc and gas welding equipmentAdditional responsibilities not listed may be requiredQualificationsMinimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experienceExtensive experience welding carbon and stainless pipe and structuresMust pass the required weld test in accordance with company and industry standards.Physical RequirementsClimbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodations.
