We are looking for a Paralegal to become a part of our team! We are a growing boutique law firm located in a beautiful office, and most convivial work environment, in Elmsford, New York (right next to White Plains), and we are looking for someone with experience in elder law and trusts & estates.

Responsibilities

• Draft of estate planning documents.
• Prepare and file Medicaid home care and institutional applications and guardianship petitions with associated statements, and documentation.
• Case status follows up with appropriate Government agencies and/or the Court in connection with Medicaid and Guardianship filings.
• Communicate with clients.
• Preparation and filing of estate documents and status follow up with Surrogates Court.
• Coordinating with attorneys for follow up on all matters.

Requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience in elder law and estate practice.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Extensive contact with clients, attorneys, government bureaucrats (state and federal), and court staff/clerks.
• Bachelor's/Associate's degree or certificate in paralegal studies.
• Legal writing and research skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Self-directed and independent.
