On-call Crisis Response Advocate- Up to 19 hours per week

Job Details Location: HOUSTON, TX 77054 Position Type: Part Time Education Level: 4 Year Degree Travel Percentage: Road Warrior Job Shift: Any Job Category: Nonprofit - Social Services Schedule On-call Schedule: One week per month On-call hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, 24‑hour availability on Saturday and Sunday Work Model: Hybrid Local Travel: 100% as needed for hospital accompaniment Compensation Hourly Compensation: $17.02 Additional Compensation: $10 per day for each day on call Pay schedule: Semi-monthly Employee Assistance Program Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or Public Health Minimum one year of experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence, or in social services with vulnerable populations from diverse backgrounds Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word) Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish Valid Texas driver’s license with good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations using personal transportation Responsibilities Provide hospital accompaniment, crisis intervention, emotional support, case management, information & referral, education, support, and advocacy to survivors of domestic and sexual violence at local hospitals and via nurse line as needed Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, case management, information & referral, education, support, and advocacy to survivors via 24‑hour crisis hotline and chat while on standby for hospital visits Conduct danger assessments and create safety plans with survivors in high‑risk cases Communicate with on‑call staff including supervisors, crisis hotline/chat counselors, SANE nurses, law enforcement, and community partners Coordinate shelter placement and emergency transportation of clients as needed with hotline and shelter team Attend mandatory monthly meetings and training with the manager of hospital accompaniment & crisis intervention services, all department staff meetings, and as assigned Report suspected and prior abuse/neglect to either Child Protective Services or Adult Protective Services when appropriate Maintain sufficient inventory of information packets and clothing for clients while on‑shift; supplies provided by agency Other duties/projects may be assigned; routine duties will be reviewed and revised in the job description #J-18808-Ljbffr Houston Area Womens Center
