Work Environment

The role will be primarily onsite at our Alexandria outpatient office, where you will join a collaborative team of healthcare professionals committed to sharing their expertise and improving the quality of life for our patients. Our clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for a stable work-life balance while you engage with both patients and colleagues in a supportive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to assess physical function and limitations, crafting personalized treatment plans that align with their rehabilitation goals.

• Stay informed on and comply with state practice acts and regulations governing physical therapy.

• Execute evidence-based treatment protocols, adjusting modalities and techniques based on patient progress and evaluations.

• Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and timely, ensuring clear communication of patient care within electronic health records.

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational therapists, and other healthcare workers, to optimize patient care and treatment pathways.

• Implement discharge planning, providing patients with follow-up care strategies and resources to maintain their progress outside the clinic.

• Engage in continuous education and training to maintain clinical skills and meet compliance standards set by regulatory bodies.

• Participate in team meetings and professional development initiatives aimed at improving patient access and care delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a varied patient population, ranging from athletes recovering from sports injuries to patients with chronic conditions seeking to enhance their physical function. Your role as a Physical Therapist will be crucial in identifying specific needs, crafting effective rehabilitation strategies, and tracking progress to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program is required.

• Possession of a valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.

• Current CPR certification is mandatory to ensure patient safety.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage and build rapport with patients and families.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in physical therapy, particularly in an outpatient setting.

Compensation and Benefits
