Job Description

Our client, a highly respected IP law firm, is seeking a Patent Agent or Patent Attorney fluent in Japanese with a strong technical background.

Schedule: Fully remote anywhere in the U.S.

\n

Salary: $140k-$200k

\n

Billable Hours: 1,800

\n

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Draft and prosecute U.S. patent applications involving a broad range of technologies, including electronics, artificial intelligence (AI), image processing, semiconductor devices, and autonomous driving technologies.
\n
• Prepare high-quality patent applications and respond to USPTO Office Actions.
\n
• Work closely with domestic and international clients to develop and implement effective patent protection strategies.
\n
• Conduct technical analyses of inventions and translate complex concepts into clear, comprehensive patent applications.
\n
• Manage patent prosecution matters and collaborate with colleagues on patent portfolio development.
\n

Patent Agent Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field.
\n
• Fluency in Japanese is required.
\n
• Experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
\n
• Strong patent application drafting skills, with the ability to draft approximately 3–4 applications per month.
\n
• USPTO registration or eligibility for registration, as applicable.
\n
• Candidates at all experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Patent Attorney Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, or a related field.

• Fluency in Japanese is required.
\n
