Tavern Blue in Coralville combines wood-fired pizza, handcrafted cocktails, entertainment, games, special events, and a fun beach-inspired atmosphere. Our guests come for more than just food—they come for the experience.

We are looking for energetic, dependable, friendly, and service-driven Servers and Hostesses to join our team.

If you have a great personality, enjoy working with people, and can stay positive and organized in a busy environment, we’d love to meet you.

COMPENSATION

$4.35–$25.00 per hour, including tips where applicable.

Server earnings can vary depending on shifts, business volume, experience, and tips.

AVAILABILITY & COMMITMENT

Reliable availability is extremely important at Tavern Blue.

Applicants must:

• Be available Saturday evenings, which are among our busiest shifts.
• Be available to work holidays and major event days when scheduled.
• Be dependable and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
• Be willing to work in a busy, fast-paced restaurant and entertainment environment.
• Be able to maintain consistent availability.

We are looking for team members who want to be part of a dependable, hardworking crew—not people looking for an occasional “only when I’m available” job.

SERVER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Welcome guests with genuine hospitality.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately.
• Deliver food and drinks promptly.
• Check on guests throughout their visit and anticipate their needs.
• Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar, hosts, and management.
• Learn the menu, specials, drinks, promotions, and upcoming events.
• Make menu recommendations and help increase sales through appropriate upselling.
• Process cash and credit card payments accurately.
• Keep tables and service areas clean and organized.
• Reset tables quickly for incoming guests.
• Assist teammates during busy periods.
• Help create a fun, positive guest experience from beginning to end.

HOSTESS RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet every guest warmly when they enter Tavern Blue.
• Manage the seating and waitlist efficiently.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
• Answer basic questions about the restaurant, games, events, and seating areas.
• Communicate with servers and management to maintain proper table rotation.
• Keep the entrance, host stand, and waiting areas clean and organized.
• Answer restaurant phones professionally when assigned.
• Assist with reservations and large-party arrivals.
• Help reset and prepare tables when needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and help create a positive final impression.
• Assist the restaurant team wherever needed during busy periods.
