Senior Custodian, Per Diem - Ronald Reagan Medical Center (Nights)

Description This position may be converted to career Under the direction of a Custodial Supervisor, the Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout assigned UCLA Health facilities. This position performs routine and specialized cleaning in patient care areas, nursing stations, exam and procedure rooms, offices, conference rooms, hallways, corridors, and public spaces. The Custodian operates a variety of cleaning and floor care equipment and follows established procedures for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining surfaces. The role includes cleaning isolation rooms, performing high- and low-level dusting, maintaining floors through sweeping, stripping, and waxing, and properly handling and storing cleaning chemicals and supplies. The Custodian plays an important role in supporting a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff while adhering to UCLA Health's infection prevention, safety, and cleanliness standards. Salary Range: $28.72 / Hourly Qualifications Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy while directing co-workers. Ability to interact effectively with patients, customers and associates in a way that exhibits superior integrated customer service and teamwork. Ability to operate all types of housekeeping equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, auto scrubbers, pressure / steam cleaning machine etc). Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently. Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English. Ability to take initiative and follow through. Ability to work within defined time constraints. Excellent listening and verbal communication skills. Excellent organization and problem solving skills. Must be able to frequently: Bend waist while standing. Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs. Stoop and squat. Twisting and bending of the neck forward and backward.
