Delivery Technician – Hickory, NC About the Role The Delivery Technician delivers, sets up, and picks up durable medical equipment (DME) in patient homes. You will educate patients on basic equipment use and ensure safe operation while providing high‑quality customer service. Key Highlights Smaller branch with close teamwork and strong support Most techs take their trucks home based on route and schedule Clear on‑call expectations with transparent rotation Hands‑on role with mechanical and patient‑facing responsibilities Stable schedule with flexibility Safe Driver Bonus eligible Salary range The anticipated hourly range for this position is $17.50 - $23.00. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education, and location. Schedule Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM On‑Call Transparency On‑call rotation once every other week. Rotation runs Monday–Sunday Paid an on‑call stipend paid from the moment you leave home for a call Overtime paid if on‑call causes over 40 hours in the week Most callouts occur Saturday night and Sunday daytime What You’ll Do Safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. as part of daily deliveries and setups Deliver, set up, and pick up DME and supplies inside patient homes Provide clear, compassionate, professional instruction on equipment use Offer a high level of customer service and support to patients who may rely on this equipment for life‑sustaining needs Load and unload equipment from the delivery vehicle Respond to emergency delivery requests when needed Complete delivery logs, pickup forms, and vehicle documentation accurately Maintain supply components in patient profiles Assist with equipment cleaning and minor repairs Perform routine vehicle checks Support additional duties as assigned Required Ability to lift, carry and maneuver equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. as part of daily deliveries and set‑ups High school diploma or equivalent No experience required! 21 years of age or older Valid driver’s license Completion of Apria’s Driver Training Program Top Attributes for Success Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Willingness to learn Dependability Adaptability Strong customer service and bedside manner Mechanical aptitude Comfort entering patient homes Why You’ll Love Working Here You make a meaningful impact on patients' lives Supportive small‑team environment Transparent and hands‑on leadership Predictable schedule with some flexibility Training and development opportunities Independent work with strong team support Teammate Benefits As an Accendra Health employee, you have choices to fit your life.
