A well-established nonprofit organization is seeking a Controller to join its finance leadership team. This role reports directly to the CFO and plays a critical role in ensuring financial stability, process improvement, and supporting organizational leadership through accurate reporting and strong financial leadership.


Salary: $130,000
Location: Long Island, NY (onsite initially; hybrid flexibility after ~90 days)

Key Responsibilities for the Controller:
• Oversee monthend close, financial reporting, and compliance
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with leadership teams
• Manage grants, contracts, billing, and funding compliance
• Strengthen internal controls, workflows, and accounting processes
• Support audits, board reporting, and strategic financial initiatives
• Lead and develop a small accounting team
Qualifications for the Controller:
• Prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience
• Strong background in close, reporting, budgeting, and controls
• Nonprofit, human services, or healthcare experience preferred
• ERP experience (NetSuite a plus)
