For proof, look no further than our strong working relationships and extraordinary workforce.We are hiring a Superintendent to join our team full-time in the Tuscaloosa, AL area. The Superintendent position schedules, coordinates and supervises the activities of maintenance and construction workers and provides overall on-site administrative and technical management on maintenance or construction sites. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Site Manager or Project Manager; Establishes procedures for specific goals in a broad area of work / only results are reviewed / develops procedures within limits of policy and guidelines.Schedule: 5/8s  Functional Requirements:Supervises total maintenance and/or construction effort to ensure project is constructed and/or maintained in accordance with design, budget, and schedule (includes interfacing with client representatives); plans, coordinates, and supervises on-site functions including scheduling, engineering, material control, etc.; provides technical assistance, such as interpretation of drawings, as required; assists project management in developing and implementing project procedures, standards, etc.; ensures all on-site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, company standards, etc.; creates new policies and procedures or updates existing policies with plant or project management approvals; documents all violations, notifies project management, and recommends/implements corrective actions as required; assumes responsibility for productivity of employees, efficient use of materials and equipment and contractual performance of the job; interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations; analyzes and resolves work related problems; establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction Qualification standards:High school or equivalentEight (8) to ten (10) years of technical training and/or related experienceThorough knowledge of all aspects of constructionBasic knowledge of all craftsAdvanced knowledge of key crafts onsite, i.e., mechanical skills, soft skills, planning and safetyHighly developed leadership and mentor skillsPreferred Turner Leadership TrainingPost offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband PolicyComply with company and client job site safety requirementsMust not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace Compensation:Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.  Benefits:Depending on your employment status, benefits include health, dental, vision, life, ADD, voluntary life / ADD, disability benefits, leaves of absence, 401k, paid time off, paid holidays, telehealth access, and employee assistance program.  Physical Involvement:May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting ; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; typing /data entry; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment Turner Industries is an equal employment opportunity employer.
