We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our OBGYN Department.

• Deliver comprehensive midwifery care, including thorough prenatal services for low-risk obstetric patients. Conduct deliveries at Hartford Hospital, which has access to a level 4 NICU. Participate in a call rotation for labor management and deliveries, approximately one in five.
• Initiate diagnostic procedures, order and interpret lab tests, radiological studies, fetal heart rate tracings, and other relevant diagnostics for OB/GYN patient care.
• Provide counseling and education to OB/GYN patients.
• Prescribe medications and controlled substances in accordance with Connecticut law and the therapeutic plan for OB/GYN patients.
• Document all aspects of patient visits, including date of service, chief complaint, medical history, social and family history, office course, diagnosis, treatment plan, medications administered, medication reconciliation, and physical examinations, including pelvic and cervical exams.
• Order and administer injections and IV medications as needed for OB/GYN patient care.
• Interpret Non-Stress Test results for OB/GYN patients.
• Assist and triage patients who contact us with concerns or issues.
• Screen for postpartum depression in OB/GYN patients.

• Experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife is advantageous; labor and delivery experience is preferred, but new graduates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Midwifery program is required.
• Certification from the American Midwifery Certification Board must be maintained.
• A valid Connecticut nursing license is mandatory.
